Conducting an applied research, the authors of this article sought to investigate the strategies applied by foreign students for learning Persian as their second language. Learning strategies are defined by Oxford (1990) as “specific actions taken by the learner to make learning easier, faster, more enjoyable, more self-directed, more effective, and more transferrable to new situations.” Different studies have supported the claim. While they have been repeatedly addressed in different languages, including English, only cognitive and meta-cognitive learning strategies have been studied by Iranian researchers. This research was conducted using the Oxford Learning Strategies Questionnaire (1990). First, the 50-question questionnaire was translated into Persian. Then, its reliability was calculated through a pilot test taken by 30 Persian learners. Cronbach’s alpha was 0.80. Therefore, the questionnaire was revised to some extent to compensate for the low coefficient. Words deemed difficult by the participants were replaced by less difficult ones. 156 students who studied Persian as their second language in Imam Khomeini International University filled in the revised questionnaire. The data were then analyzed by SPSS. The findings demonstrated that Persian language learners sometimes used Persian learning strategies. Moreover, they were shown to use meta-cognitive strategies more and retrieval strategies less than other strategies.

Evaluating the effectiveness of behavioral interventions in various educational and therapeutic situations in experimental designs requires identifying the structure of collected data and appropriate methods of data analysis. Considering that researchers mainly use ANCOVA to analyze the data of the pretest-posttest control group designs in dyadic samples, in this article with a research example of the data collected from a pretest-posttest control group design, the application and the accuracy of the ANCOVA results and the actor-partner interdependence model (APIM) approach have been compared. The results showed that the APIM model contains more information than ANCOVA; The APIM model makes it possible to estimate the effects of actors and partners and consider them in interpretation and conclusions. When the significance level of rejecting or accepting the hypothesis is close to the critical level of 0.05, there is a contradiction between the results of these two methods, and in these cases, one should act very cautiously for interpretation and final conclusions. In cases where the significance level is far from 0.05, there is no problem and the results of the two approaches are consistent. The shift in focus to the unit of analysis allows researchers to study the complex processes and underlying processes of social interactions with much greater validity.

The atmosphere and environment in which the training takes place affects the motivation and learning of the individual with different qualities. Environmental-social factors are as the spirit of the universities. The aim of this study was to develop a model of the impact of environmental and social factors on the cycle of academic motivation- lifelong learning of police students. This research is of quantitative-qualitative type. The statistical population of this study, in the quantitative part, were all students of Amin police University in associate and bachelor degrees, which were 733 people, 219 of whom were selected by stratified sampling method, and in the qualitative part included professors and elites. A focus group of 10 of them was purposefully formed as a sample. Researcher-made tool of environmental-social factors affecting academic motivation and learning, Harter standard motivation questionnaire (1981) and lifelong learning questionnaire of Wetzel et al. (2010) were used in quantitative part and semi-structured interview form in qualitative part. Analysis of quantitative data showed that the variables of family relationship with university, reduction of extra programs positively and civilian relations negatively were the most important variables predicting academic motivation. Also, the variables of civil relations and feedback mechanisms, lack of stress and space were all positively the most important predictors of learning in students of Amin police University. According to the results of the focus group, while the academic motivation of police students is more influenced by military discipline, lifelong learning is influenced by the feedback mechanism

Abstract The Internet has far-reaching effects on various aspects of human life and the extreme use of the Internet is associated with numerous personal and social harms. The present study investigates the mediating role of emotion regulation strategies and psychological distress in the relationship between insecure attachment and problematic internet use. The present study was descriptive-correlational and structural equation modeling. The statistical population of the present study was all students studying in the undergraduate and graduate courses of the Islamic Azad University, Research Sciences, Center and Karaj Branch in the academic year 2019-2020. By cluster sampling method, 397 people were selected as the sample group. Data collection tools included Problematic Internet Use Questionnaire, Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, scale for Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale and Adult Attachment Scale. Data analysis was performed by Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis using LISREL software. The results showed that psychological distress (0.50), maladaptive strategies (0.23), adaptive strategies (-0.21), avoidant attachment (0.11), and ambivalent attachment (0.10) have the highest to the lowest correlation coefficient with harmful use of the Internet (P <0.05). Strategies for regulating emotional distress and distress also mediated the relationship between insecure attachment style and problematic internet use. Accordingly, in the field of designing the necessary measures to reduce the problematic internet use, programs can be developed to improve insecure attachment styles, emotion regulation strategies and psychological distress.

This research aims to know Kurdish auxiliary schoolbook based upon combined method and its influence on reinforcing reading and writing in elementary first grade Persian book named “ Bekhanim and Benevisim” among bilingual children of Marivan in school year 1391-92. Certain test based on specifications, content- narrative table was performed to gain information and first-grade teachers and scholars were asked to survey test content in a systematic way evaluating its connection with content scope. Five teachers confirmed that test questions do reflect sufficiently content scope and the content had been extracted from schoolbooks themselves. The content was also validated by professors (consultant and guiding professor) after adjusting and its consistency had been determined 0.7 by Cronbach Alpha which shows that consistency is favorable after testing. Since there were more variables than a dependent one, a multivariate variance has been implemented to analyze. The results in this research showed that teaching Kurdish auxiliary schoolbook based on combined method between control and test groups in regard to reading in the first step, namely learning step of reading, writing in the step of handwriting, and writing in dictation phase is to the benefit of test group in general. Consequently, teaching Kurdish auxiliary schoolbook based upon combined method reinforces and strengthens reading and writing in first grade Persian book named “Bekhanim va Benevisim” of bilingual children.

Considering the relationship between individuals' learning styles and their preferred teaching styles, this paper aims at studying the effect of the students' learning styles on their preferred teaching styles in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. 180 out of 500 students are randomly selected in the academic year of 2010-211 by using Morgan's formula and completed "learning styles" and "teaching styles" questionnaires. The results show that many subjects are inclined towards active teaching style and have assimilation and convergent learning styles. In addition, students preferring active teaching style have often divergent learning style. It is suggested that instructors use active teaching methods and consider various techniques when designing their instructions in order to make students skillful in various learning styles and provide opportunities for their academic achievements.

Bullying is a worldwide problem in most schools that can cause physical and psychological impairment on both the bully and the victim. The purpose of this study was to examine the scope of this behavior in Zanjan secondary schools. Using available sampling method, 132 secondary students (93 boys and 39 girls) were selected from four Zanjan secondary schools. All participants were asked to answer individually to the Persian translation of the Bullying Questionnaire (Elena Buccoliere and Marello Darbo, 1991). The result of this study indicated that 80% of students believe the existence of bullying in schools. Although 40.9% of them have witnessed such a behavior, 33.3% were victims and 9.8% were bullies themselves and finally 16% experienced combination of these cases. The results showed that 57% of bullying is done verbally, 40% physically, and 2.56% is of social kind. The study showed that around 57% of the students support the bully when witnessing these situation( for example by laughing, making fun of the victims and frightening them) and only less than 29% respond to the situation by showing no support for the bully (for example by supporting the victims). In terms of the schools staff, results indicated that in the 70% of instances, the schools officials’ responses would intensify bullying, while only in 28.8% of the cases, the staff responses would decrease or stop bullying.considering that bullying threats students’ psychological and physical health,it is necessary and of great importance to predict and control such behavior in schools. Therefore schools should take certain policies to teach the schools’ officials to prevent and intervene in such unpleasant behavior, and also to lessen the devastating effects of these behaviors.

The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between Math Anxiety with low academic achievement and Predictors of Math Anxiety in Guidance schools. The research method was retrospective cohort and causal comparative study. In this study, the subjects were recruited from North Khorasan province. The research statistical population comprised all pupils with low academic achievement in mathematic (their mathematic scores was lower than 10). The sample included 438 pupils (288 with low mathematic achievement and 150 with high mathematic achievement) who were chosen using cluster and stratified sampling method. The instruments were a wide range of topics, including demographic information, behavioral of teachers and parental, mathematic self-concept Inventory, mathematic anxiety Inventory, mathematic motivation Inventory, and educational motivation Inventory. The results revealed that the rate of academic drop out was 25/13%, and there was a negative relationship between math anxiety and performance mathematic (-0.51). The variables of mathematic self-concept, mathematic motivation, educational motivation and the effort of pupils had negative relationship with math anxiety. It has also been identified key factors behavioral of teachers and parental, mathematic self-concept, mathematic motivation, social participation, goal orientation and self assurance that can be considered as early predictors of mathematic anxiety. This may help administrators and teachers enhance their ability to prevent and treat mathematics anxiety through better instruction to their pupils.

The purpose of this research was to study the effectiveness of play therapy on decreasing behavioral disorders of physically- emotionally abused students of 9 -12 years old inTehran city. From the population, of all the physically- emotionally abused students inhabiting supportive institutes of Tehran , an available sample of 24 people were selectedand assigned into two groups of experiment (n=12) and control (n=12). The experiment group had10, 45 minute sessions of play therapy twice a week with 5 individual sessions and 5 group sessions. After finishing play therapy program, both groups were given post-test. Data collecting instrument used here was Achenbach Children Behavioral Check List (CBCL). Since we lack the assumption of having a normal distribution, we analyzed data using non-parametric test of Umann-whitney. Findings demonstrated that play therapy decreases the degree of anxiety/depression in physically-emotionally abused students but it doesn’t decrease the degree of behavioral disorders, aggression, withdrawn, depression, and attention problem in physically-emotionally abused students. Although play therapy was effective within groups and has decreased the degree of these disorders, it was not however significantly effective enough to statistically differentiate the groups.

Abstract
he purpose of the present research was to studycurrent status of political education in formal elementary curriculum. The method used was descriptive-analytical. The main research techniques were qualitative content analysis and document review. So, textbooks and curriculum framework of social studies, Persian language and Islamic education were used in analysis process. The results show that the current status of political education in the elementary curriculum is not desirable. Most of objectives are addressed cognitive and affective domain, while less attention has been paid to political skills or psycho-motor domain. Other findings revealed that content of political education have failed to provide a good opportunity for political education in elementary schools based on religious democracy theory. Although proposed teaching and evaluation methods and techniques appear to be optimal, however due to the weakness and shortcomings of educational content, cannot be affective. And finally between the mentioned curricula from the perspective of political education there is no coordination.
