much more salient than pre university level. Nevertheless high dropout rate is common concern among Iranian e-learning systems and others. Because of complexity of the dropout phenomena, this study is trying, to identify predictors of student success in e-learning. The data from 1011 e- learner at the IUST e-learning center were analyzed quantitatively. Demographics, Academic background, selection type and student location as predictor variables were entered in Linear Regression. Finding revealed that demographic variable (gender, Age, marital status) can predict %17.5 variance of student GPA in e-learning, further more Academic background can predict %14 variance. In contrast two variables include selection type and student location can predict 24% variance of student GPA, respectively. The result of independent T test revealed the GPA of student who are selected through centralized entrance exam were significantly less than students who are selected through university entrance exam(p=./…, t=5.597, df=970). At the end, to improve the success rate of e-learner in Iranian higher education some Conclusions and recommendations are presented.

This research was implemented with aim to determine the effectiveness of philosophy for children program with research community style in emotional intelligence of high school children. For this purpose, one of the high schools from area 2 of education organization in Tehran, was selected. Current research method was the Quasi- Experimental version of pre-test–post-test with control group. After substitution of students in test and control groups, Bar-On’s emotional intelligence questionnaire was completed to survey the effectiveness of program in pre- and post-tests. Control group was kept away from the administration process during research community and for the test group, 1.5 hour weekly sessions were held in 16 weeks. The group was held in research community style and Story of Harry Stottlemeier’s Discovery was used as the dialog stimulus. Data were analyzed using one variable covariance. Data processing revealed that all amounts of 5 emotional intelligence components (after adjustments of pre-test effect), were increased significantly, after independent variable administration. Based on this finding and with respect to the point that students being in a research community could result in directing them to scrutiny and effort for self-assessment and self- evaluation in thinking and emotional skills, we suggest the education of philosophy in children in schools.

The aim of the present research is determining the effectiveness and consideration of the principles of educational (instructional) designing, which is applied in cognitive load, learning and teaching in multimedia learning environments. The main concern of cognitive load has been the necessity of existence of an adjustable relationship between education and the restrictions of cognitive system of learners. Regarding the restrictions of human being’s cognitive capacity, designing various learning subjects in multimedia learning environments -based on the cognitive load- has a significant importance. This research has been selected from experimental researches pretest- posttest interfering, which has group-control (the test group has been trained according to the instructional CD based on the 14 principles of multimedia, and the control group has been trained also according to the instructional CD but without the 14 principles of multimedia). This study includes all of the counseling students of Payame Noor University of Bookan which entered the university in 1390-91; the number of the students amounts to 540 students. The specimen of the research included 180 people (110 men and 70 women) which was harmonized based on Riyun’s intelligence quotient test. Moreover, they
were chosen from two groups: test-group (including 55 men and 35 women) and control group (including 55 men and 35 women). The way of selection was based on simple and casual specimen. Different research’s instruments include: investigated learning test, Pas’s measuring cognitive load scale, the investigated instructional software based on 14 principles of multimedia, a questionnaire with 72 questions, which has been investigated based on 14 principles of multimedia. The results of the research showed that the consideration of the principles of educational designing in relation to group evidence has a meaningful effect (P>./01), in decreasing cognitive load and increasing learning of group test. Moreover, the relationship of each of the multiple factors (14 principles of multimedia) with cognitive load and learning was in a meaningful level.
