Abstract
Academic resilience is one of the factors that act as a protective factor in the education process and maintain academic motivation and tenacity against difficult conditions. To increase the academic resilience of students, it is necessary to study and analyze the causes and factors that affect academic resilience. The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the structural model of the mediating influence of achievement motivation in the relationship between social support and academic resilience of students. The design of the present research was correlational (based on the structural equation model). 456 students answered the research instruments including Academic Resilience Inventory (Samuels, 2004), Measure of Achievement Motivation (Hermans, 1970), and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (Zimmet et al., 1988). The research results showed that social support significantly explains academic resilience and achievement motivation, and achievement motivation significantly explains academic resilience. Also, achievement motivation plays a mediating role in the relationship between social support and academic resilience.
