The present research seeks to assess the impact of a researcher-made multimedia on the learning and retention of the Persian pre-printing skills. The participants were all the first graders of elementary schools in Teheran in the school year 2010-2011. 40 students were selected through multilevel random sampling to represent the experimental group (20 subjects) and control group (20 subjects). The method of the research was semi-experimental, and the used research plan was pretest-posttest with control group. Firstly, the researcher took a pre-test from both groups using a research-made exam, and then taught pre-printing skills to the experimental group using a research-made multimedia built on multimedia designing principles. Separately, the teacher taught the same pre-printing lesson using the traditional method. Finally, both groups were taken an exam. The results indicated an increase in alphabet-tracing learning, alphabet-tracing retention, eye/hand coordination skill learning and letter-shape recognition learning in comparison with the control group. The impact of the multimedia on the learning was confirmed while the increase of eye/hand coordination retention and letter-shape recognition retention were not confirmed. This shows that the multimedia can be effective in the learning of Persian pre-printing skills course but not necessarily in its retention in the long run.

The emphasis on ethical values, especially the protection of moral behavior, has increased dramatically in the recent years. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-concept, moral metacognition and moral behavior with the mediating role of moral reasoning students from high schools in shiraz. For this purpose, 300 students were randomly selected by using multi-stage cluster sampling method and filled out questionnaires of self-concept (Rogerz, 1975), questionnaires of metacognitive knowledge (Swanson and Hill,1993), and moral development scale (Manavipour). Data were evaluated by multiple regression analysis with synchronized method based on baron and Kenny(1989). Results demonstrated that self -concept (β=0/42, P<001), and moral metacognition had positively direct effect(β= 0/18, P<001) on moral reasoning. Also, self-concept and moral metacognition have an indirect effect on moral behavior through mediating role of moral reasoning. Moral reasoning positively predicts moral behavior. Therefore, it can be concluded that the moral reasoning has a mediating role in the relationship between self-concept and moral metacognition with moral behavior.

The main objective of this research is to construct and validate a picture projection test which is geared to assess the degree of attachment in children aged 6 to 12 years. The random sampling procedure involved 500 primary school children year 1 to 5 who studied in Karaj city and were assessed on the attachment scale. Drawing on the obtained results from 90 ‘unsafe’ children, a population of 30 pupils, boys and girls were randomly selected and were tallied in terms of sex, age, class level, and region with the results obtained from 30 children-boys and girls-out of a population of 410 pupils. A projection test was then administered on these 60 pupils. The following steps were taken in constructing the test: (1) interviews with children and adults; (2) identification of anxiety-generating situations; (3) analyzing the animals drawn in the paintings; (4) determination of content criteria on the basis of content analysis of the stories; (5) implementation of the three principles of safety, anxiety, and avoidance in analyzing the types of attachment; (6) designation of six anxiety-generating situations each of which was illustrated in the three stages of union, separation, and child-parent reunion.
According to the obtained results, the attachment projection test has sufficient reliability and validity.

In his most significant verse work, Masnavi Manavi, Molana, the seventh century glamorous star in Persian literature arena, discussed most outstanding notions in mysticism, religion and morality with respect to creativity approach. In so doing, he has made extensive use of Quran verses and Hadis. He is so skilful in utilizing tales and anecdotes that we can barely find another figure robbing shoulders to him in this respect. The diversity of Islamic allusions in his works has its roots in his wide scope of knowledge in Quran, Interpretation, Hadis and also his robust imagination. In this article, it is argued that the close study of Noha's allusions in Molana's work shows that he has used this Quranic allusion to draw a mystical conclusion or sometimes to reiterate a certain mystical notion in a creative way. Therefore he does not simply intend to retell a story but he fetched a famous story from the deepest darkest corners of his audiences' minds and then he provides a mystical and moral interpretation of that and by doing so, he elaborates on certain moral and mystical notion in such a way that the reader who reads Masnavi could be considered as an individual who has gone through a thorough course of Quran interpretation and the stories of prophets.

he purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between perceived parenting styles, identity styles and commitment in adolescents and causal model of these variables witch proposed by Berzonsky (2004). A total of 415 third-grade high school students (187 male and 238 female) were selected via cluster sampling method. Data collected by perceived parenting styles questionnaire, Berzonsky’s identity processing styles questionnaire and then analyzed using correlation, regression analysis and path analysis. Results showed that parenting styles and identity styles predict thirty one percent of variance of commitment. Also, identity styles were predicted significantly by parenting styles. The results of path analysis showed that causal model proposed by Berzonsky (2004) was not fitted in this study. Probably with regarding to the importance of ethnicity and cultural differences of Iran society and age differences, causal model proposed by Berzonsky (2004) was not confirmed in Iranian adolescents. However, in general, mother parenting styles and identity processing styles are good predictors of commitment of Iranian adolescents.

AbstractThe aim of this study was the effectiveness of bullying control training program on interpersonal problems of bullying adolescents. The present study was performed by quasi-experimental method with pre-test-post-test design and one-month follow-up with experimental and control groups. The statistical population included adolescents aged 14 to 17 years in district 17 of public schools in Tehran. Forty adolescents who met the inclusion criteria and scored high on the Harter Bullying Questionnaire were randomly selected and assigned to the experimental and control groups. The research instruments included Barkham et al.'s (1996) Interpersonal Problems Questionnaire, which was completed by both groups in three stages: pretest-posttest and one-month follow-up. The bullying control training program was performed in 8 sessions of 90 minutes for the experimental group. Data were analyzed using repeated measures multivariate analysis of variance using SPSSV22 software. The results showed that bullying control training to bullying adolescents in explicit and demographic variables (F=7.98 and P=0.001), openness to experience (F=10.95 and P=0.0005), consideration of others (F=22.86 and P=0.0005), aggression (F=10.59 and P=0.0005) and supportiveness and participation (F=19.77 and P=0.0005) are effective. However, this rate was not effective for the dependency variable (F=0.07 and P=0.930). Finally, based on the results of this study, it can be said that bullying control training is effective on interpersonal problems of bullying adolescents aged 14 to 17 years and this training can be used to solve their interpersonal problems and therefore parents, teachers, administrators and other professionals are aware of this. Trainings can be helpful.

AbstractThe purpose of the present study was explanatory role of parenting styles in predicting students' claimed self-handicapping by considering the role of self-efficacy mediation. Studies have shown that the use of self- handicapping strategies is one of the main causes of performance shortcomings in students that has been commonplace among learners to justify a possible future failure. The study method was descriptive correlational. The statistical population of the study was Shahid Beheshti University students in Tehran, Which 393 of them includes 160 men and 213 women were selected by stratified random sampling. And Jones and Berglass self-handicapping scale (1978), Self-efficacy questionnaire by Sherer et al. (1982) and questionnaire from Baumarind's parenting style (1949) were implemented on them.To test the hypotheses, the structural equation modeling has been used. The findings showed that the authoritative parenting style had a direct positive effect on self-efficacy and the authoritarian parenting style had a direct negative effect on self-efficacy. Also, self-efficacy has a direct and negative effect on claimed self-handicapping, and authoritative and autocratic, through self-efficacy have indirect negative effects on claimed self-handicapping. In sum, it can be said that self-efficacy plays a mediating role in the prediction of claimed self-handicapping by authoritative and authoritarian parenting styles. Therefore, promoting and improving self-efficacy can play an effective role in preventing and moderating the use of self-handicapping strategies.

Reading is an important skill for language acquisition. Considering the great importance of reading comprehension across students’ life span, educational researchers have paid their attention to this area. The present study was aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the elementary reading attitude survey (ERAS) which was designed by McKenna & Kear. Participants were 387 junior high-school students in Shiraz. They were selected based on purposive sampling. Two-hundred and one students studying in a gifted school & one-hundred and eighty six students studying in a public school filled the ERAS. To investigate the construct validity of the questionnaire exploratory factor analysis with Varimax rotation was performed using SPSS (V. 16). Measures of sampling adequacy were satisfying. EFA revealed two factors, academic reading attitude & recreational reading attitude which explain 47.42 percent of variance. In addition, the obtained Chronbach’s alpha was 0.77 and it was revealed that ERAS reliable to be used in Iran. In general, the results revealed that elementary reading attitude survey is a reliable and valid measure to be used for Iranian junior high-school students and it can be use for educational and research purposes.
