The aim of this study was to investigate the factor structure and reliability of the teachers’ goal orientation Inventory.So 300 teachers from first to sixth grade were selected randomly by cluster sampling among primary school teachers in Tehran and answered to Butler goal orientation Inventory (2007). This research is descriptive and of type validation. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were used to investigate factor structure of the instrument, and Cronbach’s alpha and Test-Retest method were employed for examining the reliability. The results of Principal component with Varimax rotation showed 4 factorial factorial solutions that explained and 51.33% of whole variance. he results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed good fit of the model. The Cronbach’s alpha of the instrument was 0.82 and the correlation coefficient of test-retest was 0.72 that showed acceptable reliability for the instrument. In general, the results show a good fit of Butler's goal orientation in the Iranian society and the reliability of this questionnaire that make it a suitable measure for determining teachers’ goal orientation for screening purposes.

Abstract Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the psychometric properties of Big Five Questionnaire for Children (BFQ-C-SF). The statistical population of this study was all students of the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grades of Ardabil city. From this population, 450 students were selected by Multistage cluster sampling and participated in this study. the Greek Big Five Questionnaire for Children (GBFQ-C-SF) (Markos and Kokkinos, 2017) and Juvenile Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (Eysenck and Eysenck, 1975) were used to collect data. For analyzing data, Cronbach’s alpha, convergent reliability, Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were used. Result showed this questionnaire has a good validity (Cronbach’ s Alpha for Conscientiousness 0/75, Intellect/Openness 0/87, Agreeableness 0/72, Emotional Instability 0/88 and Energy/Extraversion 0/83). Result of Exploratory factor analysis showed that five factor structure of the questionnaire (Conscientiousness, Intellect/Openness, Agreeableness, Emotional Instability and Energy/Extraversion) could explain 66/77 percent of total variance. Confirmatory factor analysis results shown that this scale has good fitness (CFI=0/96, TLI=0/95, RFI=0/94 and RMSEA=0/057). Therefore, it can be concluded that this questionnaire is an appropriate tool for assessing the five-factor personality model in children and adolescents.

In order to investigate the reliability and validity of Pemberton Happiness Index (Hervás & Vázquez, 2013), 677 Islamic Azad University students from Tehran in 2015-16 were selected by stage sampling model and completed Pemberton Happiness Index. Based on the correlation coefficient of each item with the overall score of the index and confirmatory factor analysis of the index items, no items were omitted. The reliability of the index through internal consistency was 0.90 and test-retest reliability was 0.92. For convergent validity, the correlations between the index and Oxford Happiness Inventory, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and Internality, Powerful Others and Chance Scale, and for divergent validity the correlations with Beck Depression Inventory-Short Form and Eysenck Personality Inventory Neuroticism Scale were reported. The convergent validity coefficients were calculated from 0.52 to 0.83 and divergent validity coefficients from -0.72 to -0.80. Using the principle component analysis and varimax and oblimin rotations led to the extraction of one factor, which explained 47.41% of the total variance. The one-factor structure of the index was confirmed and its indices showed good fitness. In conclusion, the results of this study suggested that Pemberton Happiness Index is a valid instrument in the university student samples and can be useful in further studies.

This research has been carried out with the aim of adaptation and study of psychometric properties and practicality of Snijders-Oomen nonverbal intelligence test for years children (SON-R ) for Farsi-speaking children. In this study, 2852 children (1456 boys and 1396 girls) were selected, from nursery schools of the city of Tehran which are under control of Tehran’s welfare organization, by means of multistage stratified random sampling method.. To data analysis, classical model and two- parameter logistic model were used. Internal consistency of subtests (Mosaics, Categories, Situations, Puzzles, Analogies and Patterns) were obtained by λ2 formula, and reliability of performance and reasoning scales and total scores estimated by stratified alpha. The range of reliability coefficient for subtests were 0.81 to 0.88 and reliability coefficient of performance and reasoning scales and total scores were 0.88 to 0.95. Various analyses were carried out about validity, including exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, intercorrelation of subtests, item-total correlation, correlation of subtests with scales and total scores, age discrimination and discrimination power. Norms were provided for subtests, scales and total scores for all age groups (2;3 to 7;12) in six month intervals. On the whole, the results obtained from this research showed that reliability and validity of the test are high and it can be used to measure total intelligence of children.

The purpose of this study was lo prepare the normative scale to assess emotional intelligence of Iranian adolescence in relation to current theories and native culture. To achieve our aim, first we made an analysis and comparison current theories, second, we made an investigation of different school compared in various fields. Third, questions based on native culture and currenttheorieswerewritten. Thisscalewas administered to 35 secondary students. The result of this pilot study demonstrate that certain questions must be changed and some must be deleted. This scale and Bar-011,s test were simultaneously administered to 362 secondary students (183 boys and I 79girls). The subjects were randomly selected from 2 and 3 grades. The data were analyzed using.mean, standard deviation, percentile rank, Cronbach,s alpha ,KMO, Bartlett, Varimax rotation, Pearson correlation.
