Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of learning community on social skills and academic achievement of students at Allameh Tabataba'i University in Tehran. Based on the main goal, the method of this study was pre-test, a two-group post-test (for social skills variable) and a two-group post-test (for academic achievement variable). The population of this study was students of Allameh Tabataba'i University Faculty of Psychology of Educational Sciences. Among the statistical population, 14 people were selected as the subjects who were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The results of the covariance analysis test for social skills test were significant at 95% confidence level (P <0.05) and showed that the community of learning has an impact on social skills and increases it. The results of t-test showed that there is a significant difference between the level of academic achievement of students in the experimental and control groups, in other words, students who have been trained in the learning community method have had more academic achievement. It is suggested that teachers and educators use this method to improve the level of social skills and academic achievement of students at universities and institutions with community-based learning infrastructure infrastructures.
