The present research aims to study the relationship between regulating positive and negative emotions and the academic performance and burnout among university students. This was a descriptivecorrelational research. Using cluster random sampling method, ٤٠٠subjects (including ٢٠٠ males and ٢٠٠ females) were selected from among undergraduate students at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili during the academic year ٢٠١١-٢٠١٢. The data was collected using the Academic Burnout Scale and the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire. The participants’ academic average grade was used to measure their academic performance. The Pierson's Correlation Coefficient and MANOVA were used to analyze the data. Pierson's Correlation Coefficient showed a significant correlation between regulation of positive and negative emotions and students’ performance and academic burnout. Moreover, the analysis of variance results showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of regulation of positive emotions and academic burnout. Regulation of positive emotions was stronger among female students, and consequently, their academic burnout was less than that of male students. However, no significant correlation was found between the two groups regarding negative emotions and academic performance.

he aim of this study was to examine the relationship between general self efficacy, academic procrastination and academic achievement in university students. 161 male and 228 female students completed the general self efficacy scale (Sherer and Madox, 1982) and academic procrastination scale (Solomon and Rathblom, 1984). The results showed that the average scores of male students were lower than of female students. The comparison of norms in procrastination scores on the academic functions in this study and previous research also showed that in all cases it was higher than previous norms. Pearson`s correlation showed that there is a meaningful and negative relationship between general self efficacy, academic procrastination and academic achievement of in university students. However, the multi variables analysis of variance revealed no statistically meaningful relationship among these groups.

The research method is causative - comparative (Ex Post Facto). 300 students of Islamic Azad University in Mazandaran province were randomly selected and personality inventory (NEO PI-R) and Kolb’s learning styles inventory (LSI) were administered to them. In order to analyze the data, ANOVA were used. Results indicated that there are differences among means of NEO factors (extroversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness) and learning modes, (concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, active Experimentation).

The reliability and validity of the scores on the Big Five Inventory (BFI) were examined in a sample of 240 university students, (151 girls and 89 boys). Internal consistency of the subscales of BFI ranged from. / 61 to. 8. Face validity of the scale was confirmed by 6 experts (psychologists and psychiatrists). By the use of exploratoryfactor analysis, 5 factors were extracted. On the whole, these five factors accounted for about 40 percenl of variance of the data. Moreover, Confirmatory Factor analysis confirmed the five factor model of personality. The results of this study indicated Ihat BFI can be applied with the university students' population
